Delph And Dobcross Into T20 Semi-Finals
Delph and Dobcross defeated Elland on Tuesday night to advance to the last four of the Huddersfield League’s Twenty20 Cup.
The current league leaders are joined in the semi-finals by the teams in second, third and fourth place, after Kirkburton, Honley and Golcar all won as well.
D&D set an imposing total of 233/4 from their allocation of 20 overs. Once again an impressive opening stand, this time of 116, between Butt and Hargreaves was the foundation of the total, with Butt eventually falling for 156 off just 70 balls, including fourteen 4s and thirteen 6s.
In reply, Elland never looked like mounting a succesful chase, with Irfan Zahoor doing some serious damage as he took 3/14 from four miserly overs. Eventually Elland’s innings closed on 184/6, giving Delph and Dobcross victory by 49 runs.
