Rain Beats Delph And Dobcross

Delph and Dobcross were defeated by the weather on Saturday, as their Huddersfield League match with Slaithwaite came to an early, and soggy, end.

The match was initially reduced to 48 overs per side, and Slaithwaite made 210/8 from their allocation. Arron Lilley was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/47. D&D had reached 76/3 in the 13th over of their reply when the rain returned, forcing the match to be abandoned. D&D remain third in the league table.

Earlier in the week, D&D suffered an agonising defeat to Elland in the semi-finals of the Twenty20 Cup. Elland took victory by just one run off the final ball of the match. Elland went on to beat Golcar in yesterday’s final.

You can see the scorecard and report from Saturday at the D&D website here. The league table is here.
